Project 1: name of your first project

Context

when? where? who? why?

Our idea is based on the fact that there are seasonal rentals for apartments, houses during the holiday periods. Why not transpose this mechanism to cars? The idea would be to go beyond classic carpooling by including a functional sharing and exchange dimension. Imagine you are retired and you want to travel to another country but you don't feel like driving 10 hours in a row but you still need a car on the spot. Imagine that at the same time another user makes the opposite trip. It would be a win-win deal.

Target

for whom?

Our target is mainly seniors who are willing to travel a lot enjoying their retirement and cannot walk on long distance. We are planning on seducing an international community who travel among several states in the same area like the US or Western Europe which do not have a car or is not willing to use it on long distance.

Service offered

what? how?

Our service will aim to bring people in the same geographical area closer together by enabling them to rent the car that each person has. We have based ourselves on the disadvantage of carpooling, taxis and VTC, which is that it is necessary to share the passenger compartment with another driver. In our model the client will have the complete disposal of the vehicle. Our system will be based on a geolocation system that will list all the vehicles available on the platform with a maximum perimeter of destination and the autonomy of the vehicle with the price per kilometre if necessary. The system will be roughly equivalent to that available for other services such as electric scooters or self-service bicycles.

Benchmark

Koolicar or Getaround have the same service as us in that they allow you to rent cars between individuals using the same platform. We certainly wish to keep theirs, especially on the management of driving data by improving these devices by specific measures for seniors such as a specific perimeter related to the interests of seniors: family, doctors. We also wish to offer vehicles adapted for seniors with comfort or accessibility facilities.

Classic Ride

Context

when? where? who? why?

We aim at providing a convenient, accesible and easy-to use APP platform to those who are interested in sharing and renting the antique cars, starting from 2020. It will be mainly lauched in the Europe market, including but not limited to UK, France, Spain and Italy, etc.

As a transportation network platform, we focus on the sharing economy and commit ourselves to creat a connection between the seniors who own and are willing to share their antique cars and the automotive enthusiasts who love and want to rent these kind of vehicles.

And why do we do this?

You may first need to know why some people are fascinated by antique cars, or so called classic cars. At this age with constant technology break through, many young people disinterested with any car 5 years or older. It is totally understandable, Apple comes out with a new iPhone every two years. Madden, FIFA, and other gaming companies come out with a new game every year. Millennials (including myself) have been trained to get the latest and greatest product, and anything over a few years old is worthless.

But classic cars are different from digital devices, there is a thriving culture behind it.

It’s the feeling being one with the car and not having an electrical barrier in between. It’s the feeling you get after you have finally fixed the overheating issue you have been having. It’s the clean lines of a ‘60s muscle car that just plainly look better than most of the drab styling of many cars today.""

Mechanic, delicated, historical, cool appearance, and infinite possiblities of modifying, those features make classic cars become popular again worldwide, and therefore makes it a very potential market with great demands.

We hope our APP could be a perfect platform to boost the further prosperity of this culture and better serve the antique car community.

Actually, we are doing this for 2 groups of people - the seniors who own and are willing to share their antique cars, and the automotive enthusiasts who love and want to rent them.

Nowadays, many automotive ethusiasts are struggling to find the antique car they like in the car market,even if they are lucky enough, there are also problems like limited-budget and poor car situation. However, a lot of seniors, thanks to their advantage of age, owns classic cars, and many of which are in good shape. Since the owners are getting old, they may not drive their cars as often as before, renting them out could be a perfect way for them to get extra income and feel connected with people who has the same interest again. In this way, the ethusiasts could enjoy driving their dream car with much cheaper expense, and even get the chance to talk with the owner to know more about the story behind those historical cars.

First of all, we offer basic service of posting car photos, chatting and renting.

There will be a section for senior car owners to post their antique cars while filling in the description of the car, for example, the model, the date of manufacture, the current situation, the engine type and so on. Those who want to rent this car can click " Rent " button to apply for it, the owners may ask them some questions to verify if they want to lend the car to the client, and the client could get more information about the car at the same time.

Secondly, we offer credit system, we will evaluate every user's credit by identity authentication and bank card information, to keep the community clear and safe an create a trustable trading environment.

Thirdly, we also provide insurance for the car rented, we garantee the safety of both parties, make sure if any incident happens, there will be an insurance to cover it.

What's more, we will also provide car polishing and repairing services for those in need.

Last but not least, we would also have a section of story sharing, DIY experience sharing etc, in another world, an interest corner for those who want to communicate with others, to further boost the prosperity of the classic car culture.
